Good News For Strapped For Cash Oxegen Fans
Oxegen’s ticket deposit scheme has been extended to allow fans to pay €120 now and the rest by June 19.
The scheme was first introduced in March, and has been such a success that Oxegen organisers MCD have decided to re-introduce the scheme, allowing fans who are feeling the pinch of the recession the chance to spread their payments.
So if you have yet to purchase tickets for Ireland’s best rock-and-roll weekend, then this allows a deposit payment of €120 to secure a weekend ticket, with the remaining balance to be paid by June 19.
Tickets for Oxegen 2009 are priced €224.50 for three days (including camping) and are available from Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide.
New Irish Albums
One time Choice Music Award winner, Juile Feeney’s new Pages LP is out May 29th. It’s the Galway girls second record since 13 Songs, for which she won the Choice.
The album is a true credit to Feeney’s talent as she wrote, sang and produced the full record herself, and with the help of a full orchestra, her music really comes to life.
‘Love Is A Tricky Thing’ is the first single off the album and is due out on May 22nd. Juile is also planning a nationwide tour and is hoping to bring the orchestra along!
Another Irish album that’s to be released is from the instrumental acoustic guitar duo, Tucan. Tucan are Donal Gunne and Pearse Feeney and are bringing their debut album – Aliquot Strings out later this month.
The nine-track album features a blend of sounds derived from classical and ‘60’s rock to heavy metal, trad, flamenco and jazz. The album is bound to be a huge success if it has the energy and flair that their live performances have.
