Manic Street Preacher’s play Ireland
The Welsh rockers have anounced a string of summer dates including a visit to Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on June 4th and the Ulster Hall in Belfast on June 6th.
The band are due to release their ninth studio album, Journal For Plague Lovers on May 18th, after which they embark on a tour with stops all around England and Wales, including a stint at T in the Park.
Tickets to the Olympia show are priced between €44.20 to €49.20, and the Ulster Hall show is £27.50. Tickets for both shows are due to go on sale this Friday, March 27 at 9.30am through Ticketmaster and usual outlets.
Bray’s Peakin Trippers releasing single
The band are getting ready to play The Village this weekend as they set about releasing their new single ‘Forgotten Man’. The track is due for its official launch on March 27th.
Peakin Trippers are a pop/rock combo fivepiece whose frontman Scott O’Neill’s performance is often regarded to being similar to that of a “demented chicken”. With that in mind, I reckon it’s worth the €8 ticket price as an entertaining and energetic show is in store.
U2 knock Jacko off Ticket Top
Just as Michael Jackson was getting his head around his new ticket sales record for his shows in London’s O2, Irelands own U2 stepped up and took him down! On Friday March 20th the U2 boys sold 650,000 tickets for their 360 tour in seven hours. For those of us not too quick in the mathematical department that averages 112 tickets a second… impressive!
2fm’s Gerry Ryan broke the news to the lads over the phone who were as always delighted to receive such an overwhelming reception for their homecoming shows.
After the success of these ticket sales, everyone’s awaiting another announcement for at least one more show if not more, watch this space for more!
Depeche Mode Announce Dublin Dates
The Electro legends that are Depeche Mode have confirmed a date in Dublin’s O2 this December!
The 80’s icons are playing on December 10th with tickets priced €65.70 for standing and €68.20 for seated, and they’re all going on sale next Friday, March 27 at 9am. It may seem like a long way away but fans are sure to snap up these tickets in no time! The lads are on tour to promote the release of Sounds Of The Universe which is due out on April 20th.
