IMTV’s Muireann sat down with Marie Junior and Greg French from The Brilliant Things who were high off the buzz from their Oxegen Festival performance on the Vodafone Stage.

With loads of festival gigs planned for the Summer and the release of a new EP the band are busy with an exciting year ahead.

IMTV’s Conor Behan sat down with Tim & Mark from Ash backstage at the Oxegen festival. They talked about headlining the Hot Press stage and the fun & frenzy of festival gigs in general.

2010 sees the band play a handful of festivals as well as touring as far afield as Australia & Japan.

IMTV’s Muireann met up with Californian indie-boys Local Natives at the Oxegen Festival 2010.

They chatted about playing in Ireland, giving out their music for remixes, as well as their new video. Plus they all managed to get a round of crazy golf in while backstage!

Ireland’s favorite wildchildren, Fight Like Apes, are back with their difficult second album… proving that, for them, it wasn’t difficult at all!
The Body of Christ and the Legs of Tina Turner was released last Friday with a “midnight mass” gig in Dublin’s Tower Records. They’re known for their imaginative and visually striking videos, and they’ve surprised us this time with a simple, yet nonetheless beautiful, video for their first single, ‘Hoo Ha Henry’.

Shot in IMTV’s own neighborhood, in Dublin’s private Odessa club, the video has something of a rich, lustrous speakeasy feel to it. Complete with keytars. Excellent stuff.

The Minutes new single, Fleetwood, which is scheduled to be released in September, is accompanied by this gorgeous video by Philip Kelly & Warrior Films.

Shot on RED camera on location in Bray, Co. Wicklow, it’s full of that bittersweet Irish seaside town feeling, complete with funfair, chips and candyfloss. I do say, a new IMTV favorite.

A few weeks ago some of Ireland’s best dancers gathered in Merrion Square to show us their skills. How to they compare to the dancers in Step Up 3D? You’ll have to see for yourself!

Brand new video from Irish indie rockers The Looks. The jangly guitar driven single, Romeo, was released in July 2010. The band’s unique music video, a combination of live action, stop animation and creative chalk was directed by Graham Holbrook.

A music video for “Moon” by Kill Krinkle Club. A bit blippy and bloppy, a bit Hot Chippy. We like it. Taken from their forthcoming debut album, “Abandon” which will be released on Toy Ship Records.

The fabulous stop start video was shot and edited by Babysweet Sessions. All footage is between Belfast and Dublin.

Official video of Storyfold’s debut single ‘Delphine Wakes’.
Dublin-based Storyfold’s distinctive sound has been compared to Ben Folds Five, Muse, Arcade Fire and The Magic Numbers, and they have already played in venues as diverse as The Sugar Club, Whelan’s, The Spirit Store in Dundalk, Lavery’s in Belfast and Leitrim (all of it). Singer Paddy’s face might seem very familiar around Ireland, as he presents sports coverage for RTE. The band have also just been added as support for Feeder in The Academy in Dublin on Aug 19th.
